There are different types of accommodations available for safaris in Kenya, ranging from basic camping to luxurious lodges. Here are some of the most common types of accommodations:

  1. Tented Camps: Tented camps are typically located in the wilderness areas of national parks and conservancies. They offer comfortable tents with en-suite bathrooms and are often designed to blend in with the surrounding landscape. Some tented camps also have communal areas for dining and relaxation.
  2. Lodges: Lodges are permanent structures that offer a higher level of comfort and luxury than tented camps. They typically have spacious rooms with en-suite bathrooms, as well as communal areas for dining, lounging, and socializing. Lodges are often located in prime wildlife areas and offer a range of activities, such as game drives, guided walks, and cultural visits.
  3. Eco-Lodges: Eco-lodges are designed to have a minimal impact on the environment and are often built using sustainable materials. They offer comfortable accommodation with en-suite bathrooms, and some also have communal areas for dining and relaxation. Eco-lodges are usually located in remote and pristine areas, and offer opportunities for nature-based activities.
  4. Mobile Camps: Mobile camps are set up in specific locations for a limited period of time, typically during the peak safari season. They offer basic tented accommodation with shared bathrooms and are designed to provide a more authentic camping experience. Mobile camps are often located in remote and exclusive areas of national parks and conservancies.
  5. Treehouses: Treehouses are unique and unusual accommodations that offer a different perspective on the surrounding landscape. They are often located in remote and secluded areas and offer a high degree of privacy and seclusion. Treehouses typically have basic amenities such as a bed, a bathroom, and a balcony or veranda with views of the surrounding forest or savannah.

The type of accommodation you choose for your safari in Kenya will depend on your preferences and budget. It is important to book accommodations well in advance, especially during peak safari season, to ensure availability
